< basic knowledge about Kingdom of Thailand >

   Thailand we (Japanese) feel friendship deeply is located in Southeast Asia, the center part in
  the Indo-China peninsula, and the northern part region in the Malay Peninsula.
   Thailand is country based on Constitutional & monarch.
   Most people believe in "Lesser vehicle" Buddhism different from Japanese.
   The Chao Phraya river flows in the center area, and Agriculture is done mostly.Chiefly, rice,
  sugarcane corn tin, and the crude rubber, etc... are produced.
   The capital is Bangkok that is now the base point of the Asia travel for many people.
    ( The meaning of Bangkok is "Angel's capital".)
    The country is almost 510,000 square kilometers and almost 60 million people.

    The national flag of Thailand in the left of the upper part is called "Ton trial length" (tricolor).
    Blue at the center symbolizes "King".
    The surrounding white originates in a white elephant from the legend of the founding of a country,
   and symbolizes "Religion".
    Red show "Nation and people's unity minds" and The entire flag symbolizes unity mind, a high faith
   to the loyalty and the lesser vehicle Buddhism.

 
    < Chiang Mai >

    Chiang Mai City which is at 1000km north from Bangkok was capital city. Before, it was called
    "Rose in the north" and prospered. The formal nomenclature of Chiang Mai is
    "Noppabree See Nacorn pin Chiang Mai"(beautiful new capital near the pin river).
    It prospers as the second Thai kingdom city and center of the administration, economy, and
   the culture in north area.
    The population is about 1.6 million people. Large majority is Thai and coexists with the hill tribe
   ( About 13% is Mon,Yao, rough, riss, aka, Karens, Myen and Rawa ).
    In the west, there is the highest mountain in thailand, Doi Inthanon (above sea level 2590m).
    Pomiculture have developed widely because around mountains bring many water there.
    Therefore, the kingdom was born at the end of 13th century was named
    "Runner (meaning rice field of one million)".
    Chiang Mai became the appearance of an square city (About one was about 1500m) which had
    rampart and moat around there in the "Runner Kingdom Age". Now the rampart is left most part,
   "TARPAE GATE" and little remain inside moat.
    Many Japanese think no problem to live in Chiang Mai because the temperature and humidity lower
   than Bangkok, It is paid attention as the long stay resort that Japanese senior generations spend
   the new life in recent years.
    The golf courses and the Japanese reaustrants are arranged enough.Now it is not unusual to see
    Japanese that enjoys the long life of Thailand not only traveler who stay a few days.
